Hi

Does anyone have an idea how much i should expect to pay for a structural survey on a house that i am hoping to buy, a 3 bed semi in Portlaoise??
I was given a quote of 350 plus vat which amounts to 423 euro

Is this the standard price for a survey??

Thanks

Depends on what your going to get from it.

is a report included? If so then it seems reasonable. In Dublin you will pay anywhere between 250 and 600 +vat. It all depends on the size of the house and if they need to visit local authority to establish drainage wayleaves etc.

Make sure the guy/gal is covered by PI insurance though!

I'm trying to get one in Dublin and have been quoted everything from 250 to 700. I'd say that sounds reasonable.

Hi... I think this is the site your looking for.

They have a breakdown of costs per house type for Surveys and Snag lists etc. on the web page which is unusual these day. They seem very reasonable as well.

Thanks a lot for that, that website is v handy

Seems to be the going price on a 3 bed semi detached. Its a killer to fork out that money but suppose worth it in the long run!

Funny that the homepro crowd dont list their qualifications?

Are the structural engineers or just building surveyors?

paid €500 myself (including vat)... got a 29 page report...

Considering the contact number is a a mobile number this appears to be a one man show although the price is quite competitive.
