structural survey done prior to "big freeze"

as ive mentioned, i have put a deposit down and am awaiting contract to be signed on my new house, however, I am worried that damage may have been done to the house im buying over xmas period..
do i need someone to inspect property again before i sign? last thing i need when i move in, is bloody pipe damage!

My amateur opinion would be that you'd probably be aware yourself if any damage had been caused by the freeze, so you could simply arrange to visit the property yourself, turn on all the taps, flush all the toilets etc., which would be cheaper than getting a surveyor back.
