Strange flights over Dublin

Yesterday three planes flew in formation over the city centre heading south. Today three helicopters flew in formation similarly heading south. Any ideas what that's all about? Hardly anything to do with the Galway show at the weekend?

Were they practising for the ceremony marking the retirement of the outgoing Chief of Staff yesterday which was over flown by a formation of planes and helicopters? No doubt they wanted it all to go to plan, wouldn't look good if the doors came off..... I'll get me coat.
