Hi,
Just wondering has anyone installed the relatively new Stratford Ecoboiler - SEB 20.
we are trying to decide between the Herald 14 and the SEB 20. The herald has a slightly higher output 44,000 btu compared to 41,000 btu. Both claim to heat up tp 10 radiators. The SEB 20 has a thermostat as standard while the herald 14 doesn't.
Any advice appreciated !!!

Best check with your stove retailer first. There is currently an 8 to 12 week lead time on deliveries from Hunter. Find out first if they have a Herald or Stratford in stock. The thermostat on the Hunter is not usually standard and you can expect to pay somewhere in the region of €1500. I don't have details to hand on the Stratford (my resident expert is not here) but the 70B would cost around €1800 but would do a lot more rads. We are planning to have the Herald 80B in our sitting room by Christmas day (fingers crossed). Its their most recent addition to the range and most powerful boiler model. Check out www.hunterstoves.co.uk.
Hope this helps.

thanks for that, have just ordered the Hunter Herald 14, lucky with the stockist, they have 2 extra ordered since July and they suppose to be in stock mid oct, so the wait isn't bad

Hope you're nice and toasty this winter. I might not be so lucky as our build is dragging on and on and we cannot get delivery of tiles, floors or anything or even get a tradesman. Dearest DH will probably sell my 80B out from under me at this rate.! I'll be roasting him on Christmas day.:D

Just got a price from our plumber to do the job, a hell of a lot more than we had planned !! Although there is other work involved, ie refit of new cylinder and rearranging our current heating system and the provision of materials, but €4000 appears a bit steep to me. Maybe I'm just a little naieve !!
