hi
im thinking of booking a flight to canada around the christmas period.
If i fly via the US do i have to clear immigration at US airports or can i avoid all that as its just a stop over on the way to canada.
Some of the flights have a short one or two hour stop over time just wondering if this is long enough.

Thanks in advance

Yes you must clear US Immigration .. even in direct international transit you must do this ... in fact even if you're on the same plane (e.g. say Air New Zealand who fly to NZ via LA from London passengers must get of the plane and clear immigration)

Yes is the answer; however if flying from Dublin, this can be done at Dubli Airport before you leave.

Not necessarily - it depends on what airline you are flying with and what time your flight is.
