Still worth it if UK Chancellor introduces a means test to state pension?

I've heard speculation that the UK budget in October may possibly introduce a means test to the UK state pension. This could mean those with other income might not receive the state pension at all. I wonder would this potentially impact Irish residents?

Seems unlikely, for now, but who knows what steps UK (and Irish) government may take in the future.

For now I'd suspect that the triple lock in UK may come under scrutiny.

The chance of a means test being introduced on the state pension in this budget is highly unlikely - they're already on the back foot over the means test on the winter fuel payment.

I think you can sleep soundly at least until the triple lock is gone. It's due to go up another £460 this year.
