Sterling Savings

I built up some sterling (but now resident in Ireland) while working there for a few years but it's just been sitting in a savings account losing me money and I'd like to invest it but I'm a bit as to a loss on where to start on everything including what this means regarding my tax returns.

I have a DeGrio account but its attached to my EUR account so I'm not sure if I can also have GBP account attached to it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to say that if you had a stockbroking option that accepted GBP, you could put in into a GBP ETF if that suited your risk appetite. Davy Select do accept GBP deposits and share trades in GBP, DeGiro are a cheaper but more basic platform AFAIK so perhaps that's not a runner.
