Is it possible to open a sterling account with my local Boi/Aib branch? If so are there any charges for moving money from my Irish account to the sterling account and vice versa? Thanks

AIB do GBP bank accounts.

I think Anglo Irish offer the best rate for ROI GBP deposits currently.

Apart from exchange rates there any other commisions or charges for transfering to/from GBP?

irish banks normally offer sterling accounts if you ask but the exchange rates are rubbish,

try xe.com or currency.ie and compare with your bank
