Hi, I have been negotiating with stepstone mortgages for past few months as they have deemed loan unsustainable. I have facilitated all there requests and have offered to surrender apartment to them, I actually found a buyer also, they wrote to say they were considering the offer, there would be a shortfall of 70k after sale, i followed up numerous times by registered post and email but no reply. My family offered me 10k to give towards shortfall and I offered this also and was hopefull they would except this offer, however today I got notice they were beginning legal proceedings froma solicitor with no mention of offer - just wondering has anyone any experience of this, I would have thought they would have gone ahead with the sale and 10k lump sum? But they seem very aggressive to just take the apartment.
