A friend asked me to check out sailings /prices and asked me to book a return ferry crossing from stranraer -belfast. Checked the .ie site and found that total cost for mpv, trailer and 6 passengers was €572. On the .co.uk site the identical details brought back a price of £454. As this is technically uk-uk crossing irrespective as to which site it's booked on,I guess the difference in pricing is exchange related? Any thoughts as to other reasons why they should be priced so differently.I've heard someone mention that some of the larger companies lock into exchange rates at the start of year and its tough luck if the euro has gained on sterling.
