stem cells

Does anyone know if there is a stem cell storage service in Ireland?
I am expecting a baby and am thinking about storing the stem cells any info or experiences?

See - No personal experience of the service.

My son was born in Dec 04 & I stored his stem cells with Medicare. The website give you lots of info & if you contact them they will send you out an information pack too. Cost then was €150 for the blood collection kit & €1300 for storing the cells in the facility in Belgium for 20 years.

Check with your gynae/hospital though as some of the maternity hospitals in Dublin will not allow you to carry out this procedure. I had no problem in Mount Carmel but I know thorough some of the parenting websites others are not as accommodating.
