We have to replace a bath and don't know whether to go for a steel or acrylic one. The one we have at the moment is a cast iron which is only 2 yrs old and the whole surface has come off. Appears it may have been a "monday morning" bath as we are told cast iron baths should last for many years without looking worn. In fact our last bath was cast iron and we had it for 25yrs. I am a bit sceptical now about cast iron and think maybe steel might be a better option. Someone told me that steel heats up to a very high temperature when filled with hot water and could lead to very sore bottoms!! Anyone have infomation on the "best buy". Have googled this but just keep getting sites for bathrooms. No information on pros or cons. Would appreciate any info.
