If husband or wife stop working to stay at home to mind their children, are they entitled to claim anything?

Homemaker's Scheme OACP PRSI credits. See here.

Depends on the specific circumstances (e.g. income etc.) as to whether or not other benefits might be available. Post more details if possible.

Many thanks for info. We recently had a baby and my wife is on maternity leave. However, when she returns to work we will be looking at paying a creche about €800 per month.

We are just looking into see if it is worth her giving up work and what she could claim in doing so.
