As a woman resident in Ireland since 2000 and entitled to UK CRP from age 60 in 2011 but deferred/not claimed till 2017, instead claiming Jobseeker's Allowance (means-tested non-contributory) till reaching Irish retirement age of 66. The accrued UK CRP is now payable in a large lump sum.
The question is - what is the status of the UK CRP that was not claimed and I can now receive as a lump sum? I had reached the UK retirement age so does it belong to me? Or, though I was not "retirable" below age 66 in Ireland (nor entitled to Irish CRP) so had to claim the JSA due to no jobs available, does my UK CRP lump sum from those years revert to the Irish state?
Any advice on this grey area is welcomed.
Hope I am not out of order here in pointing out that my best working years were outside Ireland because my parents had to emigrate for economic reasons when I was a young child. This is therefore an even greyer area for us diasporeans with two retirement dates!
Thanks in advance.
