AIB Statement balance different from screen

Checked this Morning and Balance reduced by 35k statement said but the new balance seems to be 45k less so it appears they wiped out my restructuring arrears but haven’t actually said this. I’ll have to wait for the letter to see the details

It doesn't make much sense.

The balance on your mortgage and the arrears balance are two separate things.

My princaple sum ending last month was 216k. My principle sum in 2010 coming off fixed rate was 295k so that gave me 35k in calculator and sure enough when I rang this morning and asked for a balance I was told 174k and I had just been given a 35k redress adjustment. 216-35 is 181k so it appears I’ve gotten an extra 6k reduction which was roughly before interest what I was in arrears in 2013 before restructuring. I’m just guessing without the paperwork as they say but to me that’s what it looks like.
 
Yes I’ll wait and see and let people know here when I get the letter. Finance isn’t my thing as you may be guessing .
