State Funding of Health Services

Beef farmers are for looking for higher prices for their beef because their cost of production is higher than the market will stand, even with most of their income coming from welfare. There has been much criticism of their position and their actions and rightly so in my opinion.
At the same time St. John of God, a very rich organisation sitting on significant cash reserves and hundreds of millions of property, says that it is closing a dementia care home due to lack of funding. Why to those working in the healthcare industry get a free pass on their costs when they can't provide services? Why is their no question about how they run their services and how they spend their/our money?
It seems that if you are a manager or administrator you must be a lazy waster.
If you are a civil servant working in a government department you must be a lazy waster.
If you are a politician you must be corrupt and you must be a lazy waster.
If you are a lawyer you must be a lazy waster.
But if you work in the healthcare industry and wear white or scrubs then you are efficient, hard working, dedicated and underpaid. Until our media ask what are reasonable questions about the sector we'll continue to see waste, suffering, deaths and vast amounts of money spent.
Is it unreasonable to expect RTE to do better than this?
