Starting new job. Haven't worked this year. What form do I need for tax?

Hi

I was made redundant last November and finally have a new job starting May the 1st. The thing is, what form do I bring to my new employer for tax purposes? I don't have a P45 because I am not leaving another job.

I asked at the Social Welfare office this morning and all I got was a bland look and a suggestion to ring the Revenue office. I really thought those guys would know what people have to do if they are signing off!

Any advice greatly appreciated

use form 12a print off via link

Asking Social Welfare for a Revenue form would get a blank (or even bland) look, I'd imagine! You apply to Revenue for your 2009 tax credits.
