I would be grateful for advice on this also
Like all Banks, Start will require clarity over your present financial position .
1. Keep all queries in writing, keep copies of everything.
2. Write and say you are in financial difficulty but want their help in walking through the problem.
3. That lets Start initiate their procedures in the way that suits their system.
4.You will probably have to fill in a Standard Financial Statement (SFS).
5. This SFS seems daunting , but take your time and do it correctly and honestly.
Start may then come back with a long -term resolution.
If they do , do NOT jump up in glee! . Be very sure that you can carry their offer long-term.
Check what interest they will charge etc. Make sure you take advice before signing.
If Start say your Mortgage is unsustainable , you need to see are THEY correct.
If they are correct eg , Mortgage is 900 ,yet max you can afford is 300, then you have hard decisions to make.
Importantly ; take your time, be sure of where you are really at, before re-signing/doing anything.
It will Take all of this year to sort things , so please be patient.
