Update and advice / opinions required please:
Went to collect the car last week after my last post - was told the filter in the power steering needed to be replaced. Part would have to be ordered and return again. No phonecall before we undertook yet another 80 mile round trip.
Dropped the car BACK to the garage Saturday 30th so that they could undertake replacement of this filter yesterday (01/02/10)
No phonecall regarding the progress, requested call for update, none received.
Drove the 80 mile round trip after work. Arrived at garage to be told that they had replaced the filter but that they would have to now replace the entire steering rack.
(Order part, return in 2 or three days to have the work done etc).
I requested a courtesy car and to keep the Mondeo until the part arrives due to the mileage and huge inconvenience of arranging lifts, 80 miles a time etc. Was told this was not possible, 5:45 in the evening.
My partner is taking the car to them this monring, demanding a courtesy car until our own is fixed properly.
I really need unbiased opinons on this. Is it acceptable that a 2008 Ford Mondeo, purchased from a main Ford dealership should have ALL these errors and replacments?
They have be covered to date under warranty but this expires in a few months time.
I would have thought after investing nearly 20k in a car that was less than one year old when we purchased it would only require its service!! We have only had it 6 months.
Opinions please....
