Hi

I seem to recall reading something in the newspapers, about a new Standard Life product, which would faciliate borrowing within ones pension fund, to invest in property etc.

I've had a quick look at their website, but can't really find any details on this product - is anyone here familiar with it, what it's called, got more info on it etc ?

Many thanks

Hi G

Yes they have brought out a new range of personal and company pension plans, the pension fund can invest in a very large range of investments including direct property and including a facility to borrow money...there is no special name though it is still just a personal pension/company pension as the case may be.

Hi CapitalCCC

Many thanks for the reply. I think I'll ring them tomorrow and see if I can get some decent info over the phone, or an infomation pack sent out etc.

Cheers

Does this mean that existing SARTs investors should transfer to the new type administrator and what kind of cost savings would be made?

Hi

I imagine there is facility to move from an existing scheme, to the SL Synergy fund, or others like it (which are expected to be launched shortly ... well, according to that link above, to the Sunday Business Post anyway) - the question is, what costs are involved in transferring ? Probably best to give SL a call & see what they say

Anyone know if the Synergy product is suitable for Additional Voluntary Contributions ?

Thanks

Hi Garrett - it seems that Standard Life do not yet have approval yet for the stand alone Additional Voluntary Contributions version of this product - but they are planning to, again probably best to give them a call for an estimated timeframe.
