stamp duty

hi,

my father wishes to gift me land valued at 100k..As regards stamp duty, revenue states that both parties are liable to pay stamp duty..This this mean my father pays 6% and also have to pay 6% on the transfer? Hoping it 6% between us but probably wishful thinking.

Only one party pays it. But both are liable people. So if the recipient does not pay, the transferor has a liability.
