I know this question was asked before but i cant find it.
Consider the following situation:
Land owned by farmer. Daughter and fiance to build house on site.
Daughter getting married in May. If site is transferred directly to daughter no stamp duty arises. But daughter needs fiance to help with mortgage, ie in both their names. if site is transferred to their joint names stamp duty is payable.
Q: Is this SD avoidable? Should they wait till married? Is it possible to get joint mortgage on site owned by daughter?
