May have already been answered many times but hoping for a quick reply:

If I already am an owner occupier with a mortgage, and see a new build that I'm interested in moving to, am I liable for stamp duty on it, or are ALL new builds exempt irrespective of who the buyer is?

depends on the size of the new buy. if its over 125m squared you're liable to a certain rate of stamp duty. its all on the link.
 
Thanks for the reply, but from what I read it looks like I do not qualify, irrespective of its size.

It says that I must not have owned or built a house anywhere in the world, but I have.
 
Then found a bit that said that all NEW houses under 125sq met are exempt from stamp duty if bought by an owner occupier. Slight ambiguity in the site, but think I am in the clear.
 
yep i think once its under the 125 you should be ok! don't we pay enough to the government as it is!!!
