I believe if you inherit a house then you are classed as a first time buyer and pay no stamp duty on the house you buy. I inherited a house but was not left it in the will, it was left to my brother but it was the wish of my relative to leave it to me so the family all signed letters of administration to allow me to have the house. Am I still considered as a first time buyer now and am I liable for stamp duty when I buy another house??
