I bought an appartmrnt in march this year for €252000 and calculated the Stamp duty accordingly.Now my solicitor cantacts me today to say that the documentation is back from the land registery and that he needs a valuation for the appartment dated july. This means that the valuation will have risen above the thresehold hence the stamp duty will be almost doubled even though we didnt pay that much for it .Is this correct??
