Stamp Duty On Credit Cards

Hi Guys

First post on here so will try to get to the point
I have a number of credit cards (3) and have applied for another one as what to transfer balance across to it.

Also I want to close 2 of them which will have zero balances now. I have already paid the stamp duty for these 3 cards.

My query is do i hvae to paid the stamp duty again for this new CC even though im closing 2 were i hvae already paid this duty. Just that someone advised me that i can get a letter saying i paid this, off one of the company's im closing my cc with and pass this on to new CC provider and they will not charge me for this yr. Is this true??

If you're closing one card and opening another, you can get an exemption letter from the bank whose card you're closing to say you've paid the €30 stamp duty. (you'll be charged the stamp duty when you close the account). Hand this into the new bank and you won't be charged on that card next April.
