Remember the good old days when we had SSIAs? Can someone explain to me what you are supposed to do about the exit tax we paid? Is it is a tax credit against the income tax you have to pay on the interest earned on the account?

We paid Deposit Interest Retention Tax on the interest earned by our growing funds over the 5 years.
I am assuming your SSIA ran to completion without any clawback, from perhaps taking the funds early.

The exit tax on SSIA's was a one off. There is no interction between that and any other taxes. It does not credit against anything else. You paid it, end of story.
