ssia but leaving country

what is the situation for a UK individual who was resident in the is country for many years but recently left and went back to UK. Does that individual lose their entitlements under the SSIA scheme. Say the policy matures in 2007?

It's a while since I've looked at the residency rules, but AFAIR, you remain ordinarily resident in Ireland for three years after you leave.

The declaration you have to sign refers to residence in the State. I'm not sure whether this simply means 'resident' or 'ordinarily resident' as well.
