Spotlights-v-recessed in kitchen

Anyone know of the advantages of using spots on track in a kitchen. Would like to have good lighting over work areas and not sure if recessed will do the job.

Appreciate all opinions

We have recessed (6) in our kitchen and they're fine. Usually turn the light under the oven-hob when cooking too tho.

some recessed lights can be a nightmare to change a bulb. be sure you don't have to go into the ceiling to change them.

What is wrong with the fluorescent strip light, they only use a fraction of the light that the trendy lights to. Mrs insisted we change and we ended up replacing 2 x 25w fluorescent lights for 3 banks of 4 x 25w, i.e. we went from 50w to 300w in one fell swoop.

The power of minus one!!!!
