hi guys, question on behalf of my sister.

she recently had a baby but has split up from the father.
she has moved back into my mam and das house with them.
she works full time but earns 430 per week, 330 after her credit union comes out as its through her job so taken directly from her salary.
she lived with her boyfriend and had a house together and is still on the joint mortgage.

boy friend now lives in their home and he pays the full amount of mortgage (no point selling due to property prices)

can she get help with anything?
ive probably keft some things out, but i'll update as she tells me, thanks in advance.

Sorry Im a little bit confused, what does she need help with exactly? Can you be more specific..

The thing is she has a full time job so she's not entitled to social welfare, she also owns a house so I don't think she can get rent allowance eigther.. financially she seems to be doing ok.... please correct me if I'm wrong.

She can claim one parent family tax credit, as can he if he takes the child for over one night a year.

She could also seek maintenance from the father of the child if that's not already in payment.

financially she is struggling IIRC, 330 wages minus 210 childcare = 120 per week left. she cant stay with my mam and dad for long as shes currently sleeping on the sofa.

this is what she was told, but couldnt remember what the name of it was, thanks.

she could fight this, but in fairness to the ex he is paying the full mortgage of 1100e per month.

In fairness he's already paying the full mortgage himself

my thoughts too.

thanks for the info.

Whilst parents income & expenditure is taken into account in assessing maintenance; the child is entitled to be maintained by both parents. OP should pursue a maintenance order, even if for a very low amount; it can be varied as conditions improve.
