Hi,

Is someone can tell me where can I find spirit vinegar in Ireland. I have looked in major supermarket but I am not being able to put my hand on it.

Thank for your help

not really death kind but nearly. I need to descale a very good babycook as I am going to get my second baby into solids next week. You cannot use descaler that you find in shop because of too much chemical. I could use white wine vinegar but it doesn't do the job as good as the spirit one

Regular malt vinegar, so long as it's not the coloured stuff, will do just fine for this. Available in most/all supermarkets.

You can also buy citric acid powder at most good pharmacies (i.e. not the one that told me recently that "they've" stopped making aspirin). It is quite good for removing limescale (recommended for our steam sterilizer).

I use the regular "Chef" white malt vinegar all the time to descale the kettle at home.
