Speeding up processing of will

My cousin is administrator of our aunt's will, as both the original executors have passed on. Several cousins are beneficiaries of the Estate, which includes a house. However, she seems to be taking a long time to process the will and the cynic might say that this is because she currently lives in the house rent free. Is there anything I can do to move it along? Apparently she is not replying to Solicitor's letters?

How long is a "long time". It does take some time for a Grant to issue. It's a usually a thankless task acting as an administrator for an estate with alot of beneficaries.

In the normal course an Executor has one year to distribute an estate before an application can be brought to court in respect of the failure to the Executor to distrubute the assets.

Generally there is a reluctance to apply to court to replace an executor or to seek an order of court compelling the executor to do his job as the costs of the court proceedings generally have to be paid out of the residue of the estate.

It's coming up to a year, with very little processed.

She lived in the house for the last couple of years before our aunt died, also rent free.
