speed online transfer

Hi,

I am in dispute with somebody over money owed to me.

They just told me that they are transferring the money online.

I would like to know will I be able to login and see it immediately or do I need to wait overnight (or Monday as today is Friday????) Perhaps the transaction is done in realtime but the actual transfer takes place by night/batch.???

Is it slower if they use a different bank?

If it's supposed to appear ASAP and it doesn't I need to make some arrangements before COB today.

It can take a day or two to hit your online account. I have an online account and the person who transferred money though to me sent me the confirmation letter that they received when it went out of their account but it was another two working days before it hit my online account.
