hi all. I'm writing this for my wife. she is an sna in a permanent position since 2014, which she loves.
the only issue is she doesn't understand her pension nor do most of her colleagues. I started avc contributions myself but in a different pension scheme and advised her to look into avc.
does anyone here have any info regarding what she will be entitled to when she retires, which I believe will be when she is 66?
Well if she was a new entrant to the Public Service in 2014 she is a member of the Single Pension Scheme which started in 2013. There is likely to be significant scope for AVC's. There is a useful calculator here:

I imagine her pension even with full service is not great. I'm worried that it will leave her short for her retirement. il check out that calculator. thanks for the help
