Hi All
We plan to visit South Africa for a holliday in November we are 2 middleaged couples As there are some missgivings re travel and safety etc we are trending towards an all in package
Any experience out there?
Your views would be appreciated

Thank you

Was there in March, faboulous country but too big to do it all in one two week trip so firstly decide what you want to do and see? what are your specific interests? Price range is very important in South Africa, the only cheap option is to take your hire car and drive around Kruger, you coudl pay anything from €200 to €1000 per day for private game parks.
Capetown and the Cape is nice, I can recommend a few places around there.
PM me with a few details and I will forward the contact address for a private guide I used, you can discuss requirements with him yourself.
On the safety issue, I was more than a little concerned myself before going and I was certainly careful while out there but it's not too bad.

www.clubtravel.co.za is owned by an Irish guy, might be worth contacting them to see what they could do for you, chances are it might be cheaper than having it organised by an Irish agency - you could book your flights from here and have them do the rest.
I second what Jetblue says about Cape Town and that area, absolutely fantastic, but you do have to take care.

You should check out the key posts on S. Africa for a lot of useful information.

Very easy country to access and travel around; I travelled on my own with two children for a month, covered a huge distance and had a great time. Met some great people and never had any real concerns about safety.
