Would anyone be able to recommend someone who could lay a patio.
16m2 / Galway East.

Not willing to take a chance laying it myself when it's such a permanent fixture!

Hi Marge,

Would Homer not do the job :)

Sorry I can't give a recommendation but just a word of warning about quite a no. of posts that we have had in the past about how slippy patios can be when they get wet - there is a mention of same here I vaguely recall someone saying that they found it too dangerous where children were in the house and they removed same.

Perhaps [broken link removed] might be able to give some advice/recommendation.

Homer is NOT inclined to move his *ss from the couch!
And I don't think I can do 16m2 on my own.

Good advice on the patio sueellen...might look into textured slabs.

I did a 35m2 patio whilst on holiday in West Clare. Got some really good help and advice too.

We took out 3.5 tonnes of stones and old slabs, dug a drain, fitted outside water tap, fitted outside electricity point and 2 lights, took in 3 tonnes of sand, and 1850 bricks. Made levels for drainage, compacted with whacker plate...........

Never again. It's very hard work.

Budget about €500 for labour alone.

Give Homer a good kick.

RS2K, Take my hat off to you. Hope youre pleased with the finished result.

Do you know of anyone or could you reccommend anyone in this line of work in the West Clare area.

We hope to do same, but lack the manpower!

I'd never do it again, but will check with someone I know who might.....

p.s. We are pretty happy with the outcome.

RS2K, Many thanks for that, much appreciated. Hope you enjoy many long summer days on the patio.
