Solicitor no longer in practice

Hi

I finally got a hold of copies of mortgage documents held by bank. One of the mortgages is clearly not signed by me, given my name is spelt incorrectly and witnessed by a solicitor who is no longer in practice and wasnt my solicitor at the time.

So my question is how do I find out when the solicitor stopped practicing?

At a guess, I'd imagine that the Law Society would keep a record of these things.
