We bought a house last November 2013 and the conveyancing was handled by a local solicitor, before the deal closed we give the stamp duty & land registry fee to solicitor, presume the solicitor will sort them out, but when I ask the bank this week for a copy of title deeds, the bank said they have not received the title deeds from the Customer's Solicitor.

Tried to contact solicitor’s office the landline seems not working, emailed them no reply, then I googled the solicitor name, turns out he passed away this year.

From my understanding the deeds will only be transferred under my name after stamp duty been paid, and since the bank never get a copy of deeds, is that mean my solicitor never paid those money for stamp duty and land registry?

What should I do now, who should we contact, help please.

The Bank won't have completed the mortgage without the Solicitor's undertaking. So don't be needlessly worried.

What @No_moolah suggests - I would concur. That is the first and hopefully only step.
