Solicitor Fees

Hi, I was just wondering, is it possible to do the land registry fee yourself and save money on a solicitor. I know I will still have to pay for a solicitor, but I heard the land registry fee can be done for €25 saving €500+ if a solicitor does it

Land Registry/Registry of Deeds charges fall under outlay and should cost no more whether the solicitor does the business or you do (if that's even possible). Note that the Land Registry and Registry of Deeds charges vary significantly and it's largely pot luck (i.e. depending on which the property/title is registered under) which you will be hit for.

Just to add that Property Registration Authority are government charges and of course do not vary whether you deal with them directly or your solicitor does on your behalf.

I doubt you will save this much by doing it yourself. Do you know what type of search you need to do in the land registry e.g. against pending applications, completed applications, name search, mapping search?
