Solicitor fee

I am about to close a sale on an investment property of 280k.My solicitor is charging me 2460. Is this a fair price ?
 
What is the detailed breakdown of charges? In particular what is the solicitor's professional conveyancing fee?
 
The solicitor is charging me 1560 including vat as solicitor fee
900 for outlays and Miscellaneous. Total 2460.
 
€1290 approx + VAT + outlay seems reasonable and would be a fair price. Has this solicitor been recommended to you? Price should not be the only factor in choosing a solicitor.
 
I got a Solicitor in Virginia (Approx an hour from swords) for 1000 + VAT

Price doesn't always translate to quality, I have used a solicitor in Dublin (3500) and he was useless, If you use services a little out of Dublin to proove to be much much cheaper
 
I thought officers of the court might be sherriffs rather than cowboys!

How clean is the title on your property and who handled the conveyance when you bought it? Smaller solicitors = smaller fees but there is a risk of inexperience if there are complications. If the solicitor on the other side is also a small solicitor with whom yours has a good relationship, then fees should be kept down.
Always try and agree something in advance and of course the incidentals and searches mount up.
