Solar Panels

Hi can anybody tell me if u need planning permission to have solar panels?
Also has anyone any idea how much it costs and how much of a grant do u get?All comment on solar panels appreciated!!

As far as I am aware solar panels are exempt provided they are on the back of the house. Thats will be ok if your house is north facing but check with your local authority re planning permission if solar panels will be on front of house. Strictly speaking planning permission is needed for a satellite dish as well but this is a grey area at the moment. If I were you put up the panels and see what happens
