Am getting mixed advice from installers of facia and soffits. The wood on my house is OK no rot as far as I can tell from the ground. One opinion is no problem covering good wood provided there is plenty of ventilation. Other opinon is it is never ok to cover the wood and that the old wood should be taken out. The main thing for me is to do the job right but I don't want to spend unnecessary and scarce cash either. Would welcome some independent advice. Thanks.
