The last time we had a sodastream was about 40 years ago, when I was growing up, so that is where my knowledge/ memories came from.

Now I know they are available with returnable/swappable gas cartridges and hard plastic/reusable bottles.

As a coincidence, I had a bottle of sparkling water this weekend for the first time in a long time, and remembered how much I like carbonated water.

Hmmm, I can see a sodastream purchase in my near future.

Just checked Argos, and Sodastream now have a new design with a a glass bottle carafe .65Ltr. €135 for the machine, gas, and carafe.

If you don't already have a machine, it could be an option. The glass bottle is only compatible with this machine, not the other ones that use the hard plastic bottles.
