Hi All,
I was made redundant and now my stamps are up and I have been means tested. I am entitled to 37.40 a week.

My husband is working full time bringing home about €540 a week. Our mortgage is €1,160 a month. We can not possible survve on this payment.

Am I entitled to any further benefits?

I am unable to do a FAS course during the day as I have no one to mind my two kids and can't afford to pay anyone.

Its a no win situation.

No work available have sent out numerous CV's.

Do FAS pay you for night course?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
 
As far as I know FAS dont pay people to go on FAS courses anymore unless they are eligible for job seekers benefit or jobseekers allowance. You are eligible and there is some help with childcare fees. I cant attach the FAS link but look at their website for more details. Fas do not pay people to attend night courses.

You are in a very difficult situation, I would advise you to talk to your lender as soon as possible to try and get a break from your mortgage for a few months while you search for another job
 
Apart from FIS, did you get the GP/ Medical card, did you claim your medical expenses back from the Revenue (the tax part) - that would give you a bit of money even if not much.
