Hi my hubby was in contact with the engineer and she says that we need a soap bar to raise the height of the footings. Can anyone direct me to what to where i can find info on this. Google and other searches turned up nothing.

Or is it a different wording? sap bar? any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Soap bar is a special size of concrete block, 100x 100 x 440mm long, so called because it resembles an old fashioned bar of soap (I assume). They are used in the coursing of blockwork where small chnages in level are required. Your engineer should have been able to tell you this, don't be afraid to ask them.

Roadstone manufacture these. Their web site will give details and suppliers.

these "soap bars" come in two sizes.100x100x440mm or 140x100x440mm.they can be got in any concrete block company e.g roadstone.and most builders providers also stock them
