We have purchased a terraced house and during 1st snag we put on or list that the partition wall in the attic between our house and neighbours was not totally built up to roof. During second inspection, the builders have now filled the gaps between wall and roof with some sort of insulating fibre glass/rock wool. Anyone any feedback on whether this should be ok or if wall should be built up with blocks??
As far as I know the attic partition wall between adjacent houses should be all blocks for fire safety purposes. You could check the http://www.environ.ie/DOEI/DOEIPol.nsf/wvNavView/wwdConstruction?OpenDocument&Lang=en (DoE building regulations) to be sure. Sounds a bit dodgy the way it is to me!
