Snag problem with affordable/shared ownership unit

This is almost unbelievable but here goes ...

I bought an apartment on the affordable/shared ownership scheme earlier this year. DCC had purchased the whole building from the developer and did their own snag so I was not allowed to have one done myself. However, I had to sign a form stating that the snag had been carried out to my satisfaction. I wasn't happy with this but I didn't seem to have any option at the time.

After moving into the place and noticing a couple things that the snag seemed to have missed, I wrote to DCC asking for a copy of my snag report. After getting no reply for six weeks I contacted the Ombudsman.

Today I have received an email from DCC saying that there had been a little mix-up and no snag was ever done on my unit!!!!! Also saying if I needed anything done just let them know.

Can I ask for a full snag to be done on the apartment now? What else should I do?

I would ask if I were you. While the problems you have noticed are probably all that exist it would be better that if there are any structural ones they be highlighted now rather than if you then go to sell the property.
