Smyths Toys 3 for 2 stickered items, but restriced ranges applied.

Was in Smyths this afternoon. We picked up three items, all stickered 3 for 2, two were Crayola Products, one was Play Doh. My job was helping with the choosing so I moved on as hubby paid. Checkout guy told him the 3 for 2 only applied within a range so he would have needed to buy three items from a range. Stickers say "3 for 2 refers to buy three items, get least expensive item free. Applies to stickered items only" - they do not refer to being within the same range.

Tried calling the store but no answer. I am not happy!
 
Send a complaint to the Head Office. I found them fairly good when I wanted to buy an item they could not be bother to sell. It was order only and not worth their while !!!
 
I know what you mean, but when I was in Smyths there were signs up on the shelves indicating that ranges and what toys were in each range.
