I travel the N81 everyday which is a notoriously dangerous road, mainly due to large amounts of quarry trucks moving sand/gravel etc from the quarry pits into and around Dublin.
The road is in a very poor state of repair (in many places) and has all sorts of debri from these trucks scattered along its route, hence my problem, i have now had the fourth new windscreen fitted to my car in the last 18 months and iam getting a bit peeved having to fork out €300 a pop for new glass.
Is there any way i could claim compensation and who would i claim against? The vehicles which throw up the rocks etc ( usually trucks going in the opposite direction funnily enough!so no hope of a reg/company no.) or the local council who should be looking after the road or the NRA ? or maybe i should buy an ex garde van with the riot mesh covering the windscreen .
Any ideas
