I am considering switching to eMobile, paying 39 pm.

There are several smartphones to choose from. This would be my first smartphone. Prices are from 100-200.

Any opinions on these phones?

SAMSUNG

Galaxy S II = 200

Galaxy S = 150

Galaxy Ace = 99

HTC

Desire S = 129

Wildfire = 100

The sales rep suggested the HTC Desire as best value for money.

Hi, I bought a Samsung S a few months ago and I really like it. Nice big screen for watching media on the bus, sd card slot and it's a very durable phone... I don't have any scratches on it with just a bumper style case on it that just raises the edges of the phone a little so the screen doesn't touch the surface face down. Also it's very well supported by the development community and I have a custom version of Android running on it from

Check out this video of its durability... skip the first 30 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3by5u9ax2EU&feature=player_embedded

Since then the Galaxy S II is out and it has a camera flash, which I miss sometimes on the Galaxy S.

Galaxy s2

got one 2 weeks ago kicks ass

get a screen cover easily scratched

great video graphics too

Had a Galaxy S and it was great. Screen resolution on it was excellent and very easy to use. Android apps were brilliant as well. Only problem was that it froze on me quite often and became quite slow. A larger external memory card helped (moved apps to that) but I think I may have gotten a bit of a dud.

Have since upgraded to Galaxy S II and it is infinitely better. Worth the extra cash in my opinion

have a desire s on meteor

great phone love it

battery life is poor enough though when all the features are on. wifi bluetooth etc.

Got a Galaxy SII in November and I am utterly in love with it - after 18 months with Nokia N900 that left me feeling like an abused wife.

Battery is good, can't give metrics. It re-loads really fast which is one thing I love about it. One of many!

+ 1 really like it, Sadly I lost my first one while travelling but bought another as I was VERY happy with the Desire S.

I have the HTC Desire S - first smartphone and I love it. It's my work phone and it's taken a few big drops, but screen is OK aside from a few minor scratches (own fault, no case or protector on it) and a slight chop out of the case where it was dropped onto concrete. That was my reason for getting it - strong case and i'm honestly delighted. Great camera quality, fast, good response touch screen....

Wouldn't be high on using apps, things like FB (don't tell the boss ;)), internet for searches etc. We're not allowed to sync emails etc so can't complain. I have a blue tooth hands free kit with a charger so just plug it on charge whenever I am in the car. Normally about a day of battery, charge up overnight.

Need to get a new personal phone as it's on the way out and almost tempted to get the same again! :D

Have a Htc Desire also and find it great no problems whatsoever.. only think i miss is the long battery life as only had nokia's before this, but usually charge it overnight.highly recommend.

Am looking to switch into the smart phone era myself at long last, but havent done any research yet.
Do all the above recommended models have wifi access as standard, or just some?
